Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Officially Announced, Confirming Earlier Rumors

The reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 aligns with previous leaks, promising exciting new features.

Treyarch and Raven Software have officially confirmed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which adds credibility to a previous rumor from two months ago. With the annual release cycle of Call of Duty, speculation often surrounds upcoming titles. The recent reveal has provided fans with official details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, making an earlier leak from April appear more trustworthy.

A teaser at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase confirmed that this latest title will indeed be the seventh Black Ops installment. Additionally, it disclosed that Black Ops 7 will include a co-op campaign and the return of David Mason from Black Ops 2. This news is particularly thrilling for long-time fans, providing a glimpse of what to expect influenced by some information shared earlier this year.

According to a tweet from CharlieIntel, the announcement of the co-op campaign matches a significant leak from April. This leak, attributed to a Reddit user claiming insider knowledge on Black Ops 7, accurately predicted the game’s setting and co-op features. Given these aspects turned out to be true, other elements of the leak may also hold water, hinting at exciting features such as 32v32 team matches, a massive Zombies map, and a futuristic Japan-themed multiplayer arena.

Confirmed Features of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Noted Call of Duty insider, Ghost of Hope, stated that Black Ops 7 will bring back the TranZit Zombies map from Black Ops 2, a detail also featured in the previous leak. Some enthusiasts believe that this beloved remastered map might be the extensive one teased in earlier rumors, although this remains unconfirmed. While 64-player matches aren’t new for the franchise, they would be significant for Black Ops, traditionally focusing on smaller multiplayer scenarios.

If the rest of the April leak proves accurate, 2025 could be a landmark year for Call of Duty. Fans are eagerly anticipating it, as Black Ops 7’s trailer views surpassed those of the last Call of Duty game within just 24 hours. Although no specific release date has been set yet, excitement grows with 2025 around the corner.
