Firaxis to Host Live Civ World Summit for Civilization VII Release

On February 8, Firaxis will host the Civ World Summit, a live-streamed strategy showdown celebrating the launch of Civilization VII. The event will take place at the Xperion gaming zone in Hamburg.

The tournament will feature five prominent members of the Civ community. Hosting the event will be Sarah Engel, a community manager at Firaxis, alongside the well-known Civ creator PotatoMcWhiskey.

For Twitch viewers, Firaxis has organized a special Twitch drop to commemorate the event: a ‘cavalry charge banner’ cosmetic for game profiles, available by watching the Firaxis channel or partnered channels.

An exciting announcement is also planned during the livestream, although further details remain under wraps.

Civilization VII will launch three days after the event, on February 11. Early reports suggest this entry in the series introduces innovative mechanics that might redefine gameplay.
