Dune: Awakening Offers PvE Zone for Non-PvP Players in Deep Desert

Dune: Awakening introduces a PvE zone in its expansive deep desert area, catering to players averse to PvP combat during their exploration.

In the new MMO, Dune: Awakening, players can now explore a section of the expansive desert without the fear of player versus player (PvP) combat. Funcom has confirmed the existence of a dedicated PvE zone in this endgame area, catering to those who prefer not to engage in PvP.

Creative Director Joel Bylos mentioned during a livestream that while much of the deep desert features PvP action, a significant portion is reserved for PvE experiences where players can raid shipwrecks and explore ecological laboratories.

“Behind the shield wall, there are also PvE elements,” said Bylos, showing gameplay of players traversing the desert in ornithopters.

He emphasized the importance of including a PvE space, noting that Scott Junior, Executive Producer, wanted players who shy away from PvP to have a safe environment.

The deep desert also promises significant resources, with vast spice deposits and control points to claim. However, every week, a massive sandstorm alters the geography, making the environment both dynamic and challenging.
