WRC Rally Games Make a Comeback with New Publisher Nacon

Nacon is set to revitalize WRC rally gaming with a new series starting in 2027, following the end of its licensing deal with Electronic Arts.

Less than a month after the end of its licensing agreement with Electronic Arts for the WRC games, the FIA has confirmed a new deal with Nacon. Starting in 2027, Nacon will develop an all-new series of WRC games with a promise of a complete reboot.

“After a comprehensive evaluation, we are delighted to have reached an agreement with Nacon,” said FIA World Rally Championship chief marketing officer Arne Dirks in an announcement.

Their vision for the franchise stands out, and their expertise in delivering great rally games is unquestioned. Expect a collaboration that elevates the WRC games into epic adventures, offering experiences beyond rally racing as we know it today.

Alan Falc, CEO of Nacon, expressed his excitement for continuing the partnership with FIA, suggesting the series will showcase official rallies, vehicles, teams, drivers, and sponsors — all contributing to the rejuvenation of the franchise. With a past history of producing official WRC titles until 2020, Nacon appears eager to reclaim its place in the racing gaming realm.

The new games are highly anticipated, especially considering previous successes such as WRC 7 and WRC 10, which received positive feedback from fans.
