ConcernedApe Hints at Future Stardew Valley Updates: 'I Might Add Something Even 50 Years From Now'

Stardew Valley's creator Eric Barone discusses his ongoing commitment to the game and hints at possible future updates.

In a recent interview conducted on January 24, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, the visionary behind Stardew Valley, talked about his game’s legacy nearly a decade later. He emphasized his desire to remain connected with the community and open to future possibilities for updates even decades down the road.

“I like creating things. I don’t think I’m ever going to retire. I think it would be funny to release an update when I’m, like, 90 years old — if I live that long. Let’s hope.”
“Me gustaría añadir algo alguna vez, incluso dentro de 50 años.”
(Translation: “I might add something even 50 years from now.”)

Barone’s commitment to improving the game and his gratitude towards the players have shaped his development journey over the years. He also mentioned his intention to balance new content while maintaining the game’s integrity.
