The team behind Skywind, the ambitious project to faithfully recreate The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind within The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has released a new 20-minute gameplay trailer accompanied by a detailed development update.
The trailer features a quest from the Imperial Legion, titled Rescue Joncis Dalomax, showcasing the transformation and enhancement of Morrowind’s iconic Bitter Coast region. Noteworthy improvements have been made in the game’s audio, including a re-recording of the original soundtrack, which the official Oblivion remaster notably overlooked.

Ambitiously, the developers are working to fully voice the cast of Morrowind’s characters, who were previously only presented through text in the original game.
In addition to the gameplay footage, Skywind aims to merge the mechanics and user interface of both titles, maintaining the unique elements such as the absence of fast travel, relying instead on in-game magic or transport mechanisms.
Exciting Prospects for Elder Scrolls Fans As Skywind progresses, it’s advised that interested individuals can contribute by applying as 3D artists or in other supportive roles such as audio QA and navmesh builders. While the project is progressing well, a release is still likely a few years away, with estimates suggesting 2027 could be the earliest target.
With speculation on the setting for The Elder Scrolls VI, and ongoing developments for Oblivion Remastered and the fan-created Skyblivion, this is a vivid period for fans of the Elder Scrolls universe.
