PlayStation finds itself in hot water once more as it prepares for the PC launch of Stellar Blade in June. Unfortunately, this release is saddled with regional restrictions, impacting 130 countries. Players in these nations will not have access to the game following its launch.
A full list detailing the regions affected is available on SteamDB. Notably, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Philippines, Russian Federation, and Vietnam are mentioned specifically without a price designation, while the other countries face outright restrictions on game activation and purchase.
This situation echoes previous trends, as even the PSN availability lines up with these restrictions, which has prompted developers at Shift Up to actively discuss the issue with the publisher. They stated, “🔸️We are closely discussing the region lock issue with the publisher and are doing our BEST to resolve most of it as soon as possible.🔸️”
The recent turbulence around PSN requirements among gaming communities can be traced to increasing dissatisfaction particularly after restrictions were retroactively placed on games like Horizon Forbidden West, prompting widespread criticism from players.
In light of these challenges, discussions are ongoing to lift the regional lock, and it remains uncertain if the developers will successfully navigate these hurdles like they did previously with Helldivers 2.
