Kojima Reveals His Upcoming Espionage Game Will Take Another Five to Six Years

Hideo Kojima shares insights on his future projects during an interview, including his forthcoming espionage video game and aspirations to direct a film.

Hideo Kojima, at 61, expressed his desire to delve into filmmaking while still young, highlighting a wait of another five or six years for his upcoming game, Physint. In a recent interview with Le Film Français, he mentioned several ongoing projects, including Death Stranding 2 and a film adaptation of Death Stranding. He stated, “Besides Death Stranding 2, there is Physint in development, that will take me another five or six years.”

Currently focusing on Physint, Kojima mentioned the game will blend elements of action and storytelling with cinematic flair, aiming to marry gameplay with filmic experiences. Once Physint is complete, he plans to finally pursue his dream of directing a movie, marking a new chapter in his expansive career. He has long been a cinematic enthusiast, infusing his game design with narrative depth and artistic influences from his favorite films.
