Intel Unveils New Bugs Affecting CPUs and GPUs, Urging Users to Update

Intel has revealed multiple bugs impacting its CPUs and GPUs, prompting users to apply necessary updates for security.

Intel is currently dealing with a range of bugs and issues affecting its hardware, spanning from CPUs to GPUs. The latest announcement from the company highlights several critical flaws in its Core Ultra processors and Arc graphics.

The company reported that the Core Ultra processors might be subject to vulnerabilities allowing unauthorized access. Intel is in the process of deploying microcode updates to rectify these issues.

Intel’s advisory mentions potential security flaws:

  • First Bug: Incorrect resource initialization that could lead to information disclosure.
  • Second Bug: A flaw in the Intel Integrated Connectivity I/O interface that raises the risk of privilege escalation.

Users are encouraged to reach out to their system providers to ensure they receive the necessary updates to address these vulnerabilities.

Furthermore, new security issues have been identified in Intel’s graphics drivers, affecting all integrated graphics processing units (iGPUs) starting from 7th Gen CPUs and including recent Arc GPUs. A driver update is reportedly available to resolve these security risks.

Lastly, an advisory regarding the ‘Endurance Gaming Mode’ software indicates potential vulnerabilities that could allow unauthorized privilege escalation, with updates available to improve security. Intel users are advised to act swiftly to apply these updates to maintain security and performance.
