Funcom to Resolve Dune: Awakening's PvP Exploit Issue: 'We've Got It Covered'

Funcom has announced plans to fix a PvP exploit in Dune: Awakening that allows players to endlessly stagger opponents.

The beta weekend for Dune: Awakening wrapped up, sparking discussions among players about an exploit affecting PvP gameplay.

Players discovered that they could repeatedly attack opponents with a quick knife slash to stagger them, rendering them defenseless. This led to matches where opponents faced endless stagger and couldn’t effectively respond, undermining the intended mechanics of the game.

During a livestream, both streamer Tyler1 and Shroud encountered this issue, raising concerns among the community. Funcom’s world director Jeff Gagné and lead producer Ole Andreas Haley acknowledged the problem, confirming that a fix is already underway.

“It will. We already have a version, internally, that has some of this problem already covered,” they assured during their comments about the June 10 release.

While some players defended the exploit as a part of player strategy, many agree it detracts from a fair gaming experience. Funcom expressed their commitment to resolving the exploit swiftly to maintain balanced gameplay.
