Mobius Digital Confirms Development of New Game Years Away from Release

Mobius Digital has revealed in a patch note that it's hard at work on a new project following the success of Outer Wilds.

Six years since the critically acclaimed release of Outer Wilds, Mobius Digital is gearing up to unveil a new project. The studio disclosed this exciting news in an informal line within the patch notes for their last major update for Outer Wilds.

Typically, when a development team embarks on a new title, there are buzz-worthy announcements, social media updates, and teaser reveals. However, in this case, it was just a casual comment tucked away in patch 16’s changelog.

As mentioned by Mobius: “This is a minor patch mainly for adding a couple folks to the credits and fixing two PC-only bugs: clicking out of the game disables certain inputs, which affected streamers, and diagonal movement being faster than normal with mouse and keyboard.” The studio emphasized that now their new game takes precedence, leaving no major updates planned for Outer Wilds or its expansion, Echoes of the Eye.

The news on social media has been met with surprise, and Mobius Digital cautioned not to expect any immediate details on the new game. “It’s gonna be a while, on the order of years, before we have any details to share about it,” they stated.
