The most significant news today is undeniably the postponement of Grand Theft Auto 6 from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. Although Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reassured that the company will still profit substantially this year, the announcement disappointed many: gamers, analysts, Take-Two shareholders, and even PC Gamer’s own Rich Stanton are not pleased.
In fact, one person isn’t joining the discontent: Luke Dale, the actor who voices Hans Capon in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, expressed his enthusiasm over the delay on social media. He stated, “WE’RE IN WITH A SHOT! GOTY!"—indicating that with the absence of GTA 6, his game might garner more attention in the Game of the Year discussions.
Dale’s jubilation makes sense; Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set to be a major title for 2025, which would traditionally be overshadowed by a new Grand Theft Auto release.
Although many are worried about the implications of this delay for the gaming landscape in 2026, Dale’s excitement may resonate with others who feel similarly relieved about the competition shift. However, it’s worth noting that GTA 6 still lacks a PC announcement, leading to concerns that PC gamers might have to wait until 2027 or even 2028 to experience the game.
