8BitDo Halts Shipments from China to the U.S. Amid Tariff Concerns

In response to new tariff regulations, 8BitDo has temporarily ceased shipping products from its China warehouse to U.S. customers, impacting availability.

8BitDo, known for its vibrant gaming accessories, has put a hold on sending products from its warehouse in China to American customers. This decision arises due to tariffs that have escalated by up to 145%, creating significant logistical challenges for various businesses, both large and small. As a result, customers trying to order 8BitDo products may face notifications stating that their orders cannot be shipped to their selected U.S. addresses.

While not all items from the company’s line-up are affected, those shipping from China are currently on pause until the situation stabilizes. According to the company’s platform, its China warehouse will resume shipments starting May 6, 2025, after a temporary closure for Labor Day.

Such tariff issues aren’t isolated to 8BitDo; numerous other companies, including gaming giants like Nintendo, have had to rethink their strategies in response to similar challenges, leading to potential price hikes on gaming hardware and accessories. As the landscape evolves with these tariffs, ordering experiences for U.S. customers may remain uncertain.
