Mighty Yell Studio Faces Staff Cuts Amid Financial Struggles

The developer behind 'The Big Con' has announced layoffs due to financial constraints affecting the gaming industry.

Indie studio Mighty Yell, known for the 2021 comedy crime adventure The Big Con and the upcoming dance combat game All Systems Dance, has made the tough decision to reduce its workforce due to financial difficulties. In a statement shared on their Bluesky account, they acknowledged the tough funding landscape in the gaming industry.

“This is not a decision we came to easily, and we know the impact it will have on our team and community. We want to be as transparent as possible regarding the layoffs, and the difficult state of funding in games.”
Mighty Yell hopes to navigate this challenging phase and bring back as many team members as possible in the future.

In a gaming climate that has seen numerous layoffs across the industry, Mighty Yell is making adjustments to stay on course for the anticipated release of All Systems Dance, a unique game where players spark rebellion through dance battles against robots.
