Intel Releases Free Performance Boost for Gaming on Core Ultra 200S Processors

Intel has launched a significant update intended to enhance gaming performance for its Core Ultra 200S processors, catering specifically to low-latency workloads.

Intel’s Core Ultra 200S processors, released last year, have received criticism for their gaming capabilities. Recently, Intel announced a new BIOS update that may enhance the gaming experience for these CPUs.

Enabling the Intel 200S Boost Overclocking Profile can purportedly provide a “performance boost for low-latency workloads like gaming” by increasing frequencies across various components without compromising processor warranties.

The update raises the fabric and die-to-die frequencies, improving them up to 3.2 GHz. DDR5 memory support is also increased, allowing for speeds of up to 8000 MT/s.

This update indicates a shift from the earlier focus of low power consumption during gaming, potentially enhancing performance without drastic power consumption increases.

Intel has specified several tested motherboards suitable for this update, including models from ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI. Additionally, various memory kits have been confirmed to be compatible with the newly established profile.

Through this BIOS update, Intel hopes to restore confidence in its Core Ultra 200S series, which has faced substantial competition in the gaming market.
