Phil Spencer Expresses Delight Over Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Teasing Future Adventures

Microsoft's Phil Spencer shares his enthusiasm for the latest Indiana Jones game and hints at potential future titles featuring the iconic character.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has left a significant impression on both players and Microsoft, marking it as one of 2024’s standout titles. Microsoft expressed satisfaction with the game’s reception and hinted at future adventures featuring the iconic character.

During a conversation with Variety (via VGC), Phil Spencer articulated, “We’re really happy with ‘Indy’ and the players and the reception. We do think there’s life in that franchise.”

While he did not confirm a sequel to The Great Circle, Spencer indicated that the door remains ajar for more Indiana Jones narratives. Furthermore, developer MachineGames is working on DLC for The Great Circle titled Indiana Jones and the Order of Giants, anticipated for release soon.

Spencer also praised MachineGames for their innovative approach, stating, “I was inspired by MachineGames’ ability to take a beloved IP and create something fresh. It’s vital that we allow our teams to explore stories in their unique ways.”

As for future titles, Spencer’s aspirations include allowing Xbox studios to create original games based on Microsoft’s properties while retaining the flexibility to explore new narratives. Following the success of The Great Circle, many fans are eager for another adventure with Dr. Jones.
