Corsair's Custom Shop Drop Unveils An Exciting Starfield-Themed Keyboard

The new collaboration showcases a customizable mechanical keyboard inspired by the popular space exploration RPG, Starfield.

It’s a widely acknowledged fact that mass production often leads to a lack of originality in tech products. With many items coming from a handful of factories, devices can start to resemble each other too closely. Collaborations between brands and gaming franchises sometimes offer an escape from this sameness. A recent example is the partnership between Corsair’s Drop and Bethesda’s latest RPG, Starfield.

This collaboration introduces a striking keyboard and desk mat set, drawing inspiration from the neo-NASA aesthetic of Starfield. The design features an all-white base with subtle color gradients reminiscent of retro technology brands like Apple and Atari, delivering a retro-futuristic vibe that resembles what one might imagine the original Apollo crew using for space missions.

At the heart of this release is the CSTM80 ten-keyless Mechanical Keyboard, designed to mirror the in-game controls of Starfield, available for preorder for $249. Its standout feature is a white magnetic decorative top plate adorned with the Constellation faction logo, providing a unique twist on a standard white keyboard.

If you already own a CSTM80, you can opt for just the decorative case for $39. The keyboard’s caps feature ship control motifs, available separately for $60. A matching desk mat, inspired by the game’s mission board, is also offered for $39, completing the set.

Moreover, other stylish peripherals like a Wave mic and a Stream Deck are part of the Elgato Drop collaboration, though these items have already sold out.

For those interested in this themed keyboard set, preorders are projected to ship by late August, presenting an exciting opportunity for fans yearning to engage with the universe of Starfield through innovative tech.
