Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo, the captain of FURIA, discussed the team’s recent international transition and his shift to a rifling in-game leader role.
After the acquisition of the young Kazakh AWP player, Danil ‘molodoy’ Golubenko, who replaced Marcelo ‘chelo’ Cespedes, FURIA released a video in which FalleN elaborated on this unexpected change. The 33-year-old veteran expressed that stepping away from the AWP role is part of a broader strategy to reshape the team’s dynamics while preparing for a future transition in leadership.
“The main reason for this shift was my desire to focus on my role as captain. I aim to delegate responsibilities, allowing another player to take my previous role, thus ensuring a smooth transition when the time comes for me to step back.” _“My current mission is to drive FURIA to be a highly competitive team, and I believe I can achieve this best in my new capacity as a captain without the AWP. I’ve had this vision for the past couple of years, and I’m keen to explore this new approach.”
FalleN also talked about his faith in the newly signed player, stating:
“We found molodoy after extensive scouting and some practice sessions. It’s my belief he possesses a lot of untapped potential, and having played at a high level already, he has the ability to significantly contribute to our success.”
With FURIA’s commitment to becoming a powerhouse in the competitive landscape, the team now prepares for upcoming events where they will acclimatize to their fresh roster composition and language transition. The first opportunity to see molodoy in action will be during the PGL Astana event from May 10-18.
