Amazon's MMO Lost Ark Set for Leveling Improvements Following Player Decline
Lost Ark, Amazon's MMO, will implement updates to enhance player progression and address lingering frustrations.
Amazon’s MMO, Lost Ark, is set to introduce updates aimed at improving the progression experience for players who have faced challenges in leveling up. Following a substantial drop in player numbers, the developers intend to enhance accessibility and address ongoing frustrations within the game.
Current Situation Lost Ark initially launched with a massive player base, peaking at 1.3 million concurrent users shortly after release. However, this number has since dwindled significantly, now averaging just under 17,000 players within a 24-hour period.
Planned Updates The developers, Smilegate, are responding to feedback by addressing specific elements that hinder player progression. Notably, they plan to revise crafting requirements, significantly reducing the resources needed for various processes. This includes adjustments up to 50% for crafting activities, aiming to facilitate smoother progression for new and returning players.
“To ease progression costs for new and returning players, we will be implementing the Transcendence and Advanced Honing nerfs,” the company stated. “These changes will help make progression more accessible.”
Challenges Ahead In addition to adjusting crafting requirements, the team at Smilegate is also investigating overhauling the gem system within the game to allow for greater flexibility in character progression and playstyle. The notorious T3 dead zone is also under scrutiny, as players have expressed dissatisfaction upon reaching this tier where progression stagnates.
Ultimately, these changes reflect a concerted effort to re-engage players and enhance their experience in Lost Ark, making the game more enjoyable and accessible.
