Neil Newbon Hopes to Reprise Astarion Role in Baldur’s Gate 4

Neil Newbon expresses his wish to return as Astarion and humorously threatens recasting studios.

Neil Newbon, known for his role as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, expressed a strong desire to reprise his character should there be a Baldur’s Gate 4. At a recent gaming event, when asked about the possibility of being recast, he humorously declared that any studio attempting to replace him would face dire consequences:

“I’d hunt them down and gut them like a fish.”

Despite the jest, Neil clarified that his main hope for the character’s future remains that any new actor honors the essence and depth of Astarion’s character. He stated, “I hope I get to play him again.”

While Baldur’s Gate 4 is still uncertain in its development, the enthusiasm from both fans and cast members indicates that there’s a significant appetite for its continuation. Newbon’s passion for the role represents the interactive storytelling that fans love, and the possibility of another game only adds to the excitement.
