Upcoming Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate 3 Will Introduce New Subclasses and More

Baldur's Gate 3's patch 8, featuring 12 new subclasses and a photo mode, is set to launch next week on April 15.

Patch 8 Launch Announcement

Larian Studios has confirmed that the highly anticipated patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on April 15. Fans of the game can expect significant updates, including the introduction of 12 new subclasses and an exciting new photo mode.

During the patch’s unveiling, it was detailed that all previous updates have greatly enriched the game’s content, establishing it as a leading title for 2023. A launch stream will be hosted on Larian’s YouTube Channel From Hell the following day to highlight the new features.

This patch comes after substantial updates from previous patches, each adding layers to gameplay with features such as permadeath Honour mode and enhanced narrative endings. Their collective update features aim to offer players a near-definitive gameplay experience, reminiscent of Larian’s approach with their Divinity: Original Sin series.

Patch 8 is seen as one of the most extensive updates yet. The new subclasses are particularly exciting for players looking to expand their character builds, while the photo mode will allow for creative capture of in-game moments.
