New Feature in Marvel Rivals Targets Performance Issues

Marvel Rivals has been a hit among the gaming community but faces significant optimisation challenges. Developers are now addressing these issues with a new feature called Switch Shader Compilation Mode. This experimental addition aims to enhance loading times and reduce crashing from memory overload.

What to Expect from the Switch Shader Compilation Mode

According to patch notes, players can activate this function through the PC launcher once the upcoming Season 2 update is live. It promises to streamline the shader compilation process, running it only when entering the game or after updates to the game version or graphics drivers. The goal is to significantly improve memory usage, limiting severe FPS drops, frozen visuals, and prevalent crashes caused by memory issues.

Known Issues

While the feature aims to improve the overall experience, players should be aware that it may initially cause some materials to render incorrectly. Moreover, a slight stutter might occur at the beginning of matches, particularly for systems equipped with a limited number of CPU threads. Players are advised to enable this feature only if they have 16GB of RAM or less and have previously encountered severe performance issues. The development team assures players that support will be available to assist in optimising their gaming experience.
