Recently, Creative Assembly announced a second round of AI improvements for Total War: Warhammer 3. Following a beta test focused on campaign AI, they identified that a bug was causing the AI to play too defensively due to an overreaction to single heroes.
The upcoming enhancements will aim to reduce this anti-player bias, allowing the AI to interact with players similarly to how it deals with other factions. Additionally, adjustments to distance scaling are planned to ensure AI armies do not remain idle when they should be active.
“For instance, the AI has struggled to invade regions like the Southlands World’s Edge Mountains, but these updates will make them more proactive.”
This statement reflects the insights from Radoslav Borisov, Principal Technical Designer at Creative Assembly.
Moreover, Steve Coleman, Senior Community Manager, mentioned that after these adjustments, the team is considering changes to siege mechanics as well.
Overall, the updates aim to enhance campaign dynamics significantly and encourage a more engaging gameplay experience.
