Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Takes Action Against Cheating with 136,000 Bans

The popular shooter continues to crack down on cheating with a significant number of bans and new detection methods.

As a live service competitive shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 faces the never-ending challenge of managing cheaters. Recently, a total of 136,000 accounts were banned in an effort to maintain fair play.

“Instances of cheating in Call of Duty, particularly in Ranked Play across both MP and Warzone, are frustrating and severely impact the experience for our community,” a blog post states.

Despite various ban measures, the community has mixed views about IP banning, which is not implemented due to potential issues affecting innocent players on shared networks. Activision noted, “We do not utilize IP-based bans because they tend to take action against entire groups within a range that isn’t problematic.”

With the upcoming Season 2, Activision intends to introduce improved detection methods and a new system to target cheating. The fight against cheaters remains a priority for 2025.
