Tekken 8 Season 2 Faces Heavy Criticism as Developer Acknowledges Community Feedback Gap

The latest season of Tekken 8 encounters backlash, with players expressing dissatisfaction over design choices that contradict their expectations.

Tekken 8’s Community Backlash

Tekken 8 is currently under fire as its second season receives overwhelmingly negative reviews from the gaming community. Players have expressed dissatisfaction with the direction taken in recent updates, reflecting a clear disconnect between developer intentions and player expectations.

Currently, only 14% of the reviews in the past month are favorable. This has raised questions regarding the game’s design choices, particularly regarding its transition from emphasizing defensive strategies in Tekken 7 to a more aggressive gameplay style.

The frustration is palpable among players who feel their feedback has been overlooked.

“No one literally no one asked for these changes, even new players never wanted more offense in a game lacking defensive options,” reads a review on Steam.

In the wake of this backlash, Katsuhiro Harada, the director of Tekken, acknowledged the issues in a recent tweet, stating: “It is clear to me that the result is a disconnect between what the community wants and the tuning results.”

He assured fans that the Battle & Tuning team is diligently reviewing feedback to improve the game. As updates continue, the future direction for Tekken 8 remains to be seen.
