Endless Legend 2 Unveils Unique Faction Featuring Cyborgs and Coral

The upcoming release of Endless Legend 2 introduces a distinctive faction that merges technology and nature, focusing on cooperation and economic strategies.

Reef Madness

Following the announcement of the Endless Legend 2, Amplitude Studios showcased a new faction: the Aspects, which introduces a unique blend of organic and mechanical life through its use of coral for various functionalities.

Faction Traits

  • The Aspects rely on coral, which serves as both a resource and a means of communication among its members through a network known as the Chrous. Coral also aids in city development and healing units.
  • Its unique mechanic allows the Aspects to influence relations with other factions by spreading coral into their territories, granting diplomatic advantages.

Quote:
“We wanted to move away from the classical trope of a diplomatic pacifist faction and make them something more like ‘deal with the devil’. They don’t want this world to be safer but manipulate people for their own good.”
(Translation: They strive for control rather than peace.)

The Aspects are designed to use their diplomatic capabilities to integrate minor factions while enticing major factions into alliances. Players will find their gameplay strategy revolves around leveraging coral’s advantages against opponents.

Gameplay and Strategy

As a mixture of cooperative and offensive tactics, the Aspects’ units provide support and bonuses in battle, making them a formidable presence on the game board. The narrative for the Aspects delves into a strange illness affecting their coral reefs, further complicating their campaigns.

Endless Legend 2 is set to launch into early access later this year, featuring a total of four distinct factions, with two more yet to be announced.
