It’s been an eventful journey for Baldur’s Village, the mod that brings characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 into Stardew Valley. Initially loved by the community, the mod faced a setback when it received a DMCA takedown from Wizards of the Coast. Following public outcry, the mod was reinstated with a statement of apology from WotC.
Mod developer XunHe1145 has now announced plans for future content, including an ‘Astarion’s Ten Hearts’ event, which was nearly completed before the takedown interrupted its launch. The team expressed deep appreciation for the support received from players, Larian Studios, and the Nexus Mods team throughout the ordeal.
“On the very day we received the takedown notice, we had just finalized Astarion’s Ten-heart event, which was scheduled for the next update,” XunHe1145 noted. “At the time, we were disheartened as we thought that this content might never reach the community. Fortunately, we are able to move forward.”
In addition to a minor update with bug fixes, the team will also roll out additional updates as planned, underlining the importance of collaboration and respect for intellectual property throughout this process.
