Survival MMO Dune: Awakening launches next month on May 20. Funcom is releasing details about it rapidly.
The team hosted a recent livestream where they discussed what occurs when a player remains inactive. Viewers were curious about whether there would be a decay timer similar to Funcom’s other game, Conan Exiles.
“Will my base decay if I don’t play?” asked a viewer. Funcom shared that while there are decay mechanics, they differ from Conan Exiles.
“Yes, we have some decay mechanics for bases,” said Ole Andreas. “As long as your base is powered, it is shielded. And as long as it’s powered and shielded, [it can’t be destroyed].”
If players leave the game for an extended period, decay can set in.
During the discussion, it was revealed that if players take a break for three weeks, their base remains intact, longer than Conan Exiles, where the decay timer is shorter. In Dune: Awakening, players also face the threat of sandstorms once the protective shield is down.
The Q&A session provided fans insight into the unique gameplay mechanics of Dune: Awakening. Watch the full livestream on YouTube.
