Producer of A Minecraft Movie Describes Set Experience as a Joyful Game
The producer of A Minecraft Movie, Torfi Ólafsson, recounts the creative atmosphere on set, likening it to playing collaboratively on a Minecraft server.
I hope no one set any explosive booby traps up.
When working on the set of A Minecraft Movie, the experience was described as if playing with friends on a Minecraft server. Producer Torfi Ólafsson stated, “People were playing the game a lot when we weren’t shooting, in the evenings, and over weekends. Everyone talked about the game between shots. There was this sense of unbound, collaborative creativity and adventure, which you experience when you are playing with friends on a Minecraft server.”
The engaging atmosphere included incredible sets and memorabilia, making it a delight for the crew. The joy of being in New Zealand, working with designers and choreographers, created a vibe reminiscent of being in an indie game studio.
A Minecraft Movie showcases various beloved elements of the game and features exciting moments, including a chase scene that perfectly depicts the use of elytra wings. The film is set to stir nostalgia for fans, reigniting their desire to engage with their unfinished Minecraft worlds.
