Atomfall Hits 1.5 Million Players, Setting a Record for Rebellion

Rebellion's latest game, Atomfall, achieves historic player count just days after its launch, marking the studio's most successful release in over three decades.

Rebellion has announced that Atomfall, their newest release, has achieved a remarkable milestone of 1.5 million players since launching on March 27. This pace of growth has set a new record for the studio, deeming it their most successful game launch in 32 years.

Jason Kingsley, Co-founder and CEO of Rebellion, expressed his joy regarding this achievement, stating:

“We are delighted that so many players are enjoying Atomfall. To have surpassed the one million players in such a short time speaks volumes for the creativity and dedication of the entire team here at Rebellion. Our size and stability mean that we can take risks to create something as different as Atomfall. Happily, that risk is paying off.”
(Translation: Kingsley also noted that reaching over one million players quickly reflects the team’s hard work.)

The game has been available to play for free for subscribers of Game Pass, which Kingsley believes contributed significantly to the rapid growth in players. Despite the large player count, initial sales figures suggest a moderate number of copies sold, yet Kingsley maintains optimism, stating that he looks forward to releasing future content, including a planned story expansion called Wicked Isle.
