Den of Wolves Developers Assure Players: Communication with Teammates is Optional

The developers behind Den of Wolves clarify that players can successfully complete missions without the need to communicate verbally, promoting a more laid-back experience.

Developers from 10 Chambers, the team behind Den of Wolves, have confirmed that players will not need to communicate verbally to complete missions. This is significant for socially awkward players or those who may find it challenging to talk while gaming.

“We really looked at how we can make a game where it’s easy to play with other people, regardless of language barriers, skill differences, or whatever it may be,” Viklund mentions. “Even if you don’t want to talk, or you’re socially awkward, or you don’t have a mic, or you have a kid sleeping in the same room and you don’t want to wake them up, whatever the reason is, you should be able to do that in a way that you would never be able to do in GTFO.”

Players will have the ability to ping enemies and utilize voice lines like ‘Help me out’ or ‘Focus on this heavy’, making coordination easier without the necessity for verbal communication. This feature allows for a more relaxed gameplay experience, focusing on objectives rather than constant chatting.

In Den of Wolves, the design enables players to seamlessly take on different roles within a team, ensuring that each member can actively participate without relying on verbal cues. Players can concentrate on achieving their goals, such as collecting loot bags, leading to a satisfying cooperative play experience.
