Issues with Over 100 AMD Ryzen 9800X3D Chips in ASRock Motherboards

Reports indicate that numerous AMD 9800X3D chips have failed, particularly in ASRock motherboards, raising concerns among users.

Concerns Arise Over AMD 9800X3D Failures

Reports indicate that ASRock motherboards have been linked to over 100 failures of the AMD 9800X3D CPU. Initially dismissed as minor issues, the situation has escalated as users report that many of these CPUs stopped functioning entirely, despite working for a time.

In various forums, it’s noted that out of these failures, 98 were in ASRock boards. Furthermore, additional reports identify failures in Asus and MSI motherboards, indicating the problem may not be limited to just one manufacturer.

In total, users note that these CPUs could boot and function normally before abruptly failing without warning. Around 45% of these failures involve the X870 chipset, while others include the B850 and B650 chipsets.

This ongoing issue has prompted ASRock to release several BIOS updates aimed at resolving boot failures, although they have not acknowledged any responsibility for the CPU failures.

As the investigation continues, many users await further action and clarification from both AMD and ASRock regarding the root cause of these problems.
