Director's Cut Planned for Steampunk RPG Sovereign Syndicate Inspired by Disco Elysium

Sovereign Syndicate announces a free director's cut update with new features and voiceovers set to be released in late 2025 or early 2026.

Sovereign Syndicate’s director’s cut will be a free upgrade.

In 2021, shortly after its release, Disco Elysium received a comprehensive update known as the Final Cut. This included four new quests, two additional songs, and various enhancements, notably fully voicing the game to attract a wider audience.

  • Sovereign Syndicate: A steampunk CRPG set in a fantastical version of Victorian London where mythical creatures roam. Players take on the role of multiple protagonists solving mysteries, including tracking down the elusive Courtesan Killer.

In honor of the game’s one-year anniversary, developer Crimson Herring has announced that a director’s cut is in progress. This version will feature full voice acting along with quality of life improvements and new comic panels for action sequences that double as the game’s combat system. The gameplay utilizes a unique skill set based on tarot cards as opposed to traditional dice.

Moreover, the studio is working on additional localization, with plans to include Turkish, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese, and aims to launch on console platforms like Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch by 2025.

The expected release date for the director’s cut is either at the end of 2025 or early 2026. Current owners of the game will receive the upgrade for free.
