The known modder Yui, recognized for his remarkable modifications to Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, is now developing a seamless co-op mod for Dark Souls: Remastered.
Yui shared an update announcing that the mod is “nearing completion” and showcased its functionality in a recent video. The mod aims to eliminate all multiplayer boundaries, enabling players to maintain their connections after dying, thus allowing for a continuous cooperative gameplay experience from the beginning to the end of the game.
Features of the Mod
- Players can connect without interruptions or the need to resummon after death.
- Invasions are optional and turned on by default.
Gameplay Demonstration
In the video, Yui’s character is seen at Firelink Shrine utilizing a “Crystal Eye Orb” to join a co-op session with another player, Oroboro. They progress through parts of the game together, demonstrating the mod’s capabilities.
While there is no specific release date available, Yui confirmed that various playthroughs have been completed to ensure stability. He also resolved several issues from the original game’s multiplayer mechanics.
Anticipation
Fans are highly enthusiastic about this development, particularly since modding for the Dark Souls series had previously been uncertain. The modding community eagerly awaits this enhancement, which promises to make co-op gameplay even more engaging.
