ESL Confirms Stockholm as Venue for Pro League Season 22 Amid Valve's Compliance Warning

ESL has announced that the 22nd season of the Pro League will take place in Stockholm, following Valve's request for tournament standards.

The 22nd season of the Pro League will be held in Stockholm.

ESL has confirmed that Stockholm will host one of their upcoming tournaments for 2025, named ESL Pro League S22, beginning on September 27.

This decision came after Valve issued a warning to tournament organizers, asking them to adhere to the newly implemented “Tournament Operating Requirements” that are mandatory from the start of 2025. Valve mentioned that non-compliance could result in penalties.

The game developer stated they expect issues regarding event details to be resolved immediately, as many organizers were still not in compliance at the time of their notice.

It’s important to mention that ESL has yet to announce the location for IEM Spring, set to occur from April 21-27, indicating continual non-compliance with Valve’s guidelines.

Furthermore, ESL has updated their Counter-Strike rulebook for 2025 to align with Valve’s operational requirements.
