Sea of Thieves Collaborates with Destiny 2: New Cosmetic Line Released

Sea of Thieves has unveiled new Destiny 2-themed cosmetics as part of its recent update, signaling a unique collaboration between Bungie and Rare.

The new Lightbearer cosmetics are now available, introducing various Destiny-themed items to the game. These include:

  • Ship flags
  • Liveries
  • Costumes, such as the Drifter’s outfit
  • Gun skins
  • The ability to have a Destiny ghost character adorning the ship’s bow

All items can be purchased from the in-game Pirate Emporium.

Sea of Thieves, which was launched in 2018, has become a prominent title in Microsoft’s portfolio. It is officially noted that this collaboration with Bungie has been in development since 2023.

Adam Park stated, “Even though it might not seem like an obvious choice, Destiny’s classes and co-operative play presented a ‘crew-like’ bond that we thought was a great fit.” Additionally, Andria Warren shared thoughts on the creative process, emphasizing that “every step challenged us to think differently.”

This collaboration represents part of a broader strategy by Microsoft to bring first-party titles to various platforms, including PlayStation, showcasing a new direction in gaming partnerships.
