Path of Exile 2 Director Confirms Potential Delay Beyond 2025

Players of Path of Exile 2 might need to wait longer for full release as the director indicates the timeline may shift.

Players expecting a full release of Path of Exile 2 this year may have to exercise patience. In a recent discussion, game director Jonathan Rogers mentioned that while they aim to conclude early access by 2025, it might take longer than anticipated.

The game’s Steam page states that early access will last “as long as needed,” with an initial estimate of six months. However, Rogers acknowledged that this timeframe was overly optimistic.

“In terms of the overall time, I think we’re still broadly on track. Initially, we anticipated six months in early access, which in retrospect was not realistic. My current feeling is closer to a year of early access… I hope to finalize it this year, but we will see how things go.”

“We still want the game out in 2025, but that’s the target.”

New classes might also see slower updates than planned, and Rogers expressed a desire to introduce a new class with each league but tempered his promises due to production pressures.

The full scope of development will continue to depend on player feedback and stabilizing the game’s performance.
