Corinne Busche has announced her departure from BioWare after an impressive career spanning 18 years with EA. Since joining the company in 2006 and moving to BioWare in 2019, she has made significant contributions to the development of the Dragon Age series.
In her statement, Busche indicated that she received an offer to create a new RPG that was too appealing to decline. She expressed satisfaction with her work at BioWare, stating, “At the heart of it, this was about my own fulfillment.”
“It was hard fought, as games with such tumultuous development cycles rarely end up shipping and even more rarely turn out great. We, as a team, did it. And it was hard. It took a toll on me.”
Busche affirmed that her decision to leave was voluntary and unrelated to the reception of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which has garnered mixed reviews. While the game has received solid critical acclaim, it has also faced scrutiny from long-time fans.
This shift marks a new chapter for Busche as she looks forward to pursuing her next exciting project in the CRPG genre.
