A Reddit user's livestream of a painstakingly slow BIOS update amassed a huge audience before concluding with a disheartening failure.

Slow BIOS Update Stream Thrills Thousands

A Reddit user going by the username GoatWithAGun had a tough time during a BIOS update that dragged on for more than 100 hours. The user shared their frustrations when the update stalled at a meager 66% after 24 hours, which resulted in a community of followers on a specific subreddit rallying behind the user.

To the surprise of many, the absurdity of watching a lifeless progress bar entertained 88,000 viewers at its peak during the livestream. Unfortunately, after over 100 hours, the update concluded abruptly, leaving the user’s PC inoperable. Some community members rallied to help by providing donations, covering the expenses for a new motherboard, showing the strength of online communities.

Quote: “I definitely regret attempting that update,” remarked the user in the aftermath.

Despite this alarming situation, experts remind us that BIOS updates are usually quick processes and frequently crucial for maintaining device performance.
