MSI Afterburner Unlocks New RTX 50-Series Overclocking Potential
A new MSI Afterburner file enables substantial overclocking capabilities for RTX 50-series graphics cards, offering users the chance to push memory speeds up to 36 Gbps.
All of the speed, all at once.
A standout feature of RTX 50-series GPUs is their ability to facilitate conventional overclocking. Surprisingly, while using the tried-and-true overclocking software MSI Afterburner, users found that there’s ample performance that can be unlocked.
Now, with a newly released update from Unwinder, the developer of Afterburner, users can achieve memory clock speeds as high as 36 Gbps. However, this requires pushing the card well beyond its stated limits, which carries risks.
Originally reported by Uniko’s Hardware, Unwinder shared the new MSI Afterburner database file on the Guru3D forums, alongside installation instructions.
Essentially, users can back up their installation folder, replace an existing database file with this new one, and potentially witness substantial increases in performance with an extra 3000+ MHz of headroom over standard Afterburner settings. But, the degree to which each GPU can handle these overclocks varies significantly, highlighting the importance of caution when experimenting with advanced settings.
