Fashion Hunters Unite: A New Mod for Monster Hunter Wilds Removes Distracting Buff Glows

A recently launched mod for Monster Hunter Wilds allows players to disable annoying buff effects that interfere with character aesthetics.

Turn Off the Glow for a Stunning Look

In the vibrant world of Monster Hunter Wilds, players are constantly battling not only formidable monsters but also the overwhelming effects of distracting buff visuals. While the game introduces an array of stylish armor options, the irritating glow of consumables can overshadow an otherwise flawless outfit.

A new mod, titled Persistent Buff Glow Removal, available on Nexus Mods, allows players to customize their experiences by removing these glowing effects. Developed by modder PeaslyWellbott, the mod provides players the flexibility to hide as many or as few effects as desired, including those from buff consumables and Palico skills.

Installation Guide

  1. Download the REFramework mod as it’s required for most mods in Monster Hunter Wilds.
  2. Extract the dinput8.dll file from the .zip to your Wilds installation folder (steamapps/common/MonsterHunterWilds).
  3. Launch the game; it will automatically create a reframework folder.
  4. Download the Persistent Buff Glow Removal mod and extract it into the autorun folder inside the reframework folder.
  5. Start the game and access the REFramework menu by hitting Insert to adjust the glow settings.

A Note on Modding

Keep in mind that Capcom’s official stance on modding is somewhat strict, labeling all mods as cheats unless officially supported. However, visually-focused mods are generally overlooked. As of October 2023, players are encouraged to proceed with caution if they wish to mod their game.
