Doom: The Dark Ages Won't End with the Slayer in a Coffin

Insights from the game's director reveal that the story will continue beyond Doom 2016.

Talking to the game’s director Hugo Martin and producer Marty Stratton, the discussion revealed that Doom: The Dark Ages will not conclude with the Slayer confined in a coffin, contrary to expectations from previous titles like Doom 2016. Instead, they imply potential for storytelling beyond this installment, aiming to keep the possibilities open for future medieval-themed tales.

“Not yet,” said Martin regarding the Slayer’s entrapment. “This is more like the Chronicles of the Slayer. If we went that route, we wouldn’t be able to weave more medieval narratives.”

The game is set to launch on May 15 and fans can look forward to more developments before then.
