A Record-Breaking Donation at Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 Surprises Everyone

A generous donation of $43,690 was made during the Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 event, breaking records and bringing humor to gaming charity.

The Awesome Games Done Quick event has once again showcased impressive generosity. It raised around $2.5 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

One standout moment was when a user known as Dr. Mecha Kitten donated $43,690, making it the largest single donation recorded at the event. This fun donation fits into the playful spirit of the gaming community.

During a speedrunning race in Super Mario World, where two gamers raced to achieve the game’s 96 exits, Dr. Kitten’s donation was announced amidst cheers from the audience, who enjoyed yelling at ghosts appearing in the game.

The humorous aspect arises from the donation itself: $43,690 is also known as 0xAAAA in hexadecimal, which is a cheeky nod to the sound one might make when startled.

The event ran from January 5 to January 12, and while it has ended, significant moments can still be seen on the event’s Twitch channel. Upcoming, Summer Games Done Quick is scheduled for July 6, promising more excitement in community charity.
