Over three years after his introduction, Pinhead will exit from Dead by Daylight. The game’s developer, Behaviour Interactive, shared the news that the character from the Hellraiser chapter will no longer be available for purchase starting April 4.
“He came. And now he must go,” Behaviour Interactive stated. The decision may be linked to the expiration of licensing agreements.
As Dead by Daylight is a live service title, unforeseen changes can occur. The Hellraiser chapter and Pinhead will become unavailable on April 4th at 11 am ET—anyone who currently owns this character and related content will still have access.
For players wanting to acquire Pinhead before he departs, a 50% discount is being offered as a last chance.
This scenario is reminiscent of previous removals from the game, including a chapter based on Stranger Things which was also retired due to licensing issues. While it’s sad to see Pinhead leave, it remains possible he may return at a later date.
