Studio Fizbin Announces Closure After 14 Years Amid Industry Challenges

Indie developer Studio Fizbin will close its doors after releasing its final game, Reignbreaker, amid ongoing issues in the gaming industry.

After 14 years of operation, indie developer Studio Fizbin is shutting down following the release of its next and last game, Reignbreaker.

Co-founder Alexander Pieper shared the news, stating:

“The games industry is in a tough situation right now, and we’ve been affected like countless other incredible studios in recent months.”

Studio Fizbin’s parent company, Thunderful, reduced development significantly in November 2024, causing further issues leading to closure. Martin Håkan, CEO, mentioned this in his quarterly report, highlighting the fate of many small studios during this turbulent time.

The team is dedicated to launching Reignbreaker on March 18 and ensuring comprehensive post-launch support. This game is expected to be their best effort yet.

Unfortunately, Studio Fizbin’s decision to pause future projects highlights the industry’s ongoing struggles.

“This means that Reignbreaker will be Studio Fizbin’s final game. We believe it’s going to be the best game we’ve ever released, and our amazing team will be working hard to launch it on the 18th of March as well as providing post-launch support.”
