First Demo Released for Fallout: New Vegas Mod Based on Cancelled Fallout 3

The United West Team has launched a demo for 'Revelation Blues', a mod bringing the narrative of the cancelled Fallout 3 game to New Vegas.

The United West Team modding group has recently released the first demo for Revelation Blues, a mod that aims to recreate the narrative of Black Isle Studios’ unreleased Fallout 3 project, codenamed Van Buren, within Fallout: New Vegas.

The demo focuses on Burham Springs, a fascinating location originally planned for Van Buren. This town, known for being located above a constantly burning coal seam, reflects the historical Centralia Mine Fire. The town’s disastrous origins trace back to an incident involving NCR soldiers chasing powder gangers after an assault on the Hoover Dam.

The mod intertwines with New Vegas’ story, showcasing similar themes like imperial overreach and unique characters that were also intended for Van Buren, providing fans a glimpse of what might have been.

Notably, Adam Lacko has been working on a different endeavor, Project Van Buren, which seeks to recreate the original mechanics and style of Van Buren, based on first-hand development documentation.

With a narrative so deeply connected to New Vegas, this mod allows players to explore elements of the old Fallout dreams that never came to fruition.
