Marvel Rivals Eyes Crossover Promotions, but Players Prefer More Comics and Movie Skins

Discussions are underway about future crossover events for Marvel Rivals, yet players are asking for more content based on existing comic and movie themes.

NetEase has expressed possibilities for future collaborations and crossover events for Marvel Rivals, but instead of mirroring Fortnite, many players simply desire more content based on Marvel’s existing lore.

“Marvel Rivals has gained wide acclaim, especially after Season 1,” a representative from NetEase shared during an earnings call.

Current collaborations in Marvel Rivals have featured elements from existing or future MCU films, including costumes inspired by The Multiverse of Madness and Captain America: Brave New World. While new themes are expected to be added, the players hope for more classic comic adaptations.

There are endless opportunities for content, drawing from comics and movies, ensuring that the developers could focus on this rich material without facing a shortage of ideas.

“I really hope they do skins based not just on the MCU but also on various TV shows and Marvel video games,” one player remarked, “Imagine skins from Raimi’s Spider-Man or the 2004 Fantastic Four alongside classic 90s Iron Man and X-Men suits from the original trilogy.”

Concerns remain among fans not wanting the game to drift away from Marvel, emphasizing the desire for authenticity to the Marvel universe.
