The Creative Minds at New Blood Revamp Ultrakill Before Its Official Launch

A significant visual overhaul brings new life to Ultrakill while improving performance and adding levels.

After extensive teasers from lead developer Arsi “Hakita” Patala, Ultrakill has undergone a major visual upgrade while still in early access. This update enhances graphics and performance, introducing new bonus levels.

Patala mentioned, “While our programmers are busy with significant rewrites, I and 3D artist Victoria Holland are refreshing the visuals of the earlier levels to meet the quality of the later ones.”

Though the update leads to substantial visual improvements, core gameplay remains unchanged. Notable transformations include the revamped landscape of the lust level, which has been turned from a simple texture to a fully rendered 3D cityscape under the rule of King Minos.

Overall, this enhancement draws comparisons to Dusk’s own HD update, emphasizing New Blood’s commitment to preserving the original art style while delivering significant improvements.

Additionally, the latest update includes two remixed levels, giving players a challenging glimpse into future content.
