New Gameplay Video Released for Oblivion Remake in Skyrim Engine

The fan-made remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion reveals stunning new footage and aims for a release this year, raising questions about the potential official remake.

Overview

In a recent live demo, the Skyblivion team, which has been remaking The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion using the Skyrim: Special Edition engine, showcased incredible visuals and confirmed their aim for a release this year.

Remarks from the Development Team

“Every second message in chat is: ‘When is the release?’” commented Scott Whiting, the mechanics lead on the project. He continued, “We’ll tell you as soon as we know. It’s a volunteer project; it’s hard to pin down an exact release date, but we are confident we can get it out this year. It’s coming along so incredibly.”

The demo features stunning graphics starting from Cheydinhal, home of the Dark Brotherhood, to an intriguing quest titled A Brush with Death, which involves diving into a painting to save a lost artist.

Questions Arising

This development raises questions, especially if a rumored official remake is also scheduled for release this year. Many fans are skeptical that it could surpass the work being done by Skyblivion, given that they’ve been developing their version for over 13 years.

Stay tuned for more updates as we anticipate the release of this promising fan project.
