As the game approaches its much-anticipated launch on February 28, excitement is mounting, particularly following recent beta tests that saw impressive player numbers. During the second open beta on Steam, over 225,000 players connected concurrently, building on the 463,000 players from the first beta in late 2024. This latest installment in the well-known Capcom series is poised to be one of the year’s major releases.
These beta testing phases have enabled players to explore, utilize various weapons, test items, and gain a sneak peek at the forthcoming release. This has significantly heightened anticipation among fans of the franchise with its legacy in the gaming world.
Tokuda noted that features like dash animations while fleeing from monsters and the mechanics behind the superman dive should be discovered organically. While crucial game mechanics, like upgrading equipment and food buffs, must be clear, minor features can foster player communication and community, as seen in other successful titles such as Elden Ring and Dark Souls.
Although the game isn’t available yet, information about its post-launch roadmap has already started to circulate, with limited-time event quests expected to roll out shortly after release, presenting new challenges and rewards to players.
